      So let me understand.
From what you wrote on the list of scammers thread , i can only assume that you wanted to buy a sp from somebody ?
But the guy didn't had a card holder himself so he asked you to give him one, than you did , and he ran away with it.
Is this right @Rainbow Dash ?
Then my question is, why you didn't secure the trade ?
When you gave him your card holder you should had asked for him to give you something as worthy as that specialist holder. A piece of res for example.
That would had been your compensation in case he ran away with your sp holder, at least you would had something of value in return.
If he wouldn't accept this , means he was most likely trying to scam you , if he did , than when he would trade back the card inside the holder you would pay him the money and give him back the res.
      Boom , safe trading.
Silly pegasus ,always with the head in the clouds.
Anyway , if you took a ss during the trade when you gave him the empty cc , send a ticket to the support and hope for the best.
Same applies for you too @Gandalof why you didn't asked Deep to give you something in return when you gave him your heart. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Worth to note... And trust me this happens more than it should.... The secure you gonna accept please make sure it covers the cost of the card carrier or whatever trade you gonna do.
Do not accept an item that is worth 10k as a secure item while you give them something that is worth 10mill.

      Common-common sense applies here.

I mean that's kinda obvious but still a great advice to let them check the items they are trading, you wouldn't want lv 42 dark boots with 5% dark res to be your secure item for an empty specialist holder.
But usually a piece of high res is some what equal the cost of a cc, i recommend it even more as everybody must have some res on them or in their inventory.

i always found res not being that great for securing, i mean someone willing to secure is probably not scamming but we're talking about the worst case scenario. res is not the most liquid item out there so it could take a while to sell at normal prices, if you want to sell quick you'd probably have to sell at a lower price which means that if the res you took is of the same value, you'll end up either losing money or wait a long time to get the money or both.

i personally prefer to always buy in cc anyway, it just removes all this hassle of securing and reporting if scammed and all that stuff. but if i really had to i would take highly liquid items such as woa, fm, other nosmall items instead (or basically any items in "main" or "etc" that sells fast over stuff on the "equipment" which usually is much slower)

I understand where are you coming from but in the same time, people may not posses these light items when they found a potential customer. The customer may have himself stacks of such items and it could create confusion if he dosen't remember the amount of items, but tis is unlikely to happen.
But yh, better buy the whole package meaning cc included.

Don't say that, your feelings are important.
Definitely more important than certain user's, i won't name.

Something like that. All the while in nostale, i have never encountered a scammer before, even when buying sps. Everytime i bought one in the past, i also gave them the cc first and they would do their thing by putting the sp in the card holder and trade it to me then i'll trade the gold. I must be unlucky this time or something to meet this scammer. Well, from now onwards i'm just gonna get like an item from them to safe keep first in case they take and run like this player. For now i'm just hoping for the best that the person involved in this is dealt with and also hope that the item could be gotten back.

I'm pretty sure his/her English was "inconsistent" as well. I was scammed by russians on different servers more than by anyone else. Not trying to imply that everyone that talks badly in English is a scammer, but it certainly is a warning flag (which means be cautious about what the seller says, ask questions, try to ask for an item that is worth the same amount of gold (if its something that is easy to sell) or higher in price if its an equipment piece), and if its a low level player its a red flag already, c25+ players are quite safe traders at this point, so you can be pretty sure that they wont be scamming. Obviously, in any case you should record a video or do several screenshots of every action and responses in pm and under any circumstances do not edit screenshots, which includes highlighting/cropping, or videos, which includes various extensive manipulations. Asking for an exchange item is a good practice, but i understand that sometimes there's just nothing to give.Rarely, but happens.
1st yellow warning flag - too cheap, no card holder
2nd yellow warning flag - bad English
3rd yellow warning flag - denies giving anything of equal worth or says something like they are quitting the game
Red flag - when you agree to meet for a trade and you encounter a low level character that cannot equip specialist card to show that it's not mythical.
